However, after the death of Sultan Trenggono in the Military Expedition in Panarukan East Java in 1546, arising from struggles over the throne of the kingdom of Demak that ended with the deaths of Princes Attend by Aryo Penangsang in the year 1549. As a ruler of Jepara, a Gemah Ripah jinawi tablets because of the presence of Jepara Commerce at that time as a busy airport, Queen Kalinyamat also known to have anti-colonial spirit of patriotism. This is evidenced by the delivery of its war fleet to Malacca in order to attack the Portuguese in the year 1551 and year 1574. Because it is given the nickname of Queen Kalinyamat by the Portuguese as "RAINHA DE JEPARA" Senora DE RICA ", which means King of Jepara, a woman who is very powerful and rich. Queen Kalinyamat attack when it involves approximately 40 vessels, which contain approximately 5000 soldiers. However, this attack failed, when a soldier these Kalinyamat perform a ground attack in an effort to stronghold besieged the Portuguese in Malacca, the Portuguese army armor Kalinyamat army broke the siege. But the spirit of patriotism was the Queen has never faded and trembling against the Portuguese colonialists, who in the 16th century it was the peak of glory, and is recognized as a brave nation in the World. KUPATAN

Most people know the city as the city of Jepara Kartini, because a female hero has been born in this city. In addition the City holds Kartini, carving the city designation is also very fitting, because of the many craftsmen carve spread in the city of Jepara. Kartini Beach, located in still in the city center two kilometers from west Jepara city government is an alternative vacation spot for people in the town of Jepara, and this place is also held every year where the Idul Fitri celebration held one week after Idul Fitri, which is a tradition handed down which is still carried out until now known by the community as a tradition Jepara "kupatan" (derived from the name "diamond" special food Lebaran / Muslim festival). Kupatan tradition in Kartini Beach is a ceremonial head of buffalo into the sea washout made by the Regent and the local community leaders.

This tradition is usually done in the morning at around 6:30 pm at the Kartini beach, after a few moments to prayer, the ceremony began and the buffalo head in the sea Going ketengah. The purpose of this ceremony is to give the head of buffalo to the ruler of the southern ocean, so that the ruler of the sea can provide some form of blessing to the inhabitants of the abundant fish and especially the fishermen to be given the ease and safety in carrying out activities as fishing, this tradition has changed dramatically since five years ago, when if we went there five years ago the atmosphere will look disorganized and scenery that is visible is a dirty beach and stunning views of the ordinary. But the government apparently realizes that Jepara tourist asset can be developed and can contribute to regional income. Now these places have been laid out neatly by the government to add such facilities in major tourist attractions in other cities ranging from toilets, a playground for children up to the dock to lean to the ship, two years ago the regional government is also building a large tortoise in place in Kartini beach resorts and hopefully with this new icon Jepara city can attract local and foreign tourists, local government plan does not stop here, this year has been in the budget a cost for the manufacture of aquariums in a turtle that plan will be enjoyed by tourists on early 2011.
